In a nutshell, all Virtual Private Network apps come equipped with certain drawbacks, unless the provider goes an extra mile to get rid of them.

• All Virtual Private Networks slow down your connection. This happens because the process of data encryption takes some time. Plus, your data then has to travel through an additional node - the VPN server which increases the distance it has to cover.   • Search “what is my IP” in Google (or use an IP lookup site) and check the result against your VPN's virtual IP address. If it returns the IP address of the chosen remote server, you are safe. If, on the other hand, you see your real IP address and location, then your VPN is leaking your IP.
