Official Announcement on a Copyright Lawsuit in the United States Involving KeepSolid

To our Customers and Partners:

You may have recently learned of a copyright lawsuit in the United States involving KeepSolid, and we wanted to provide you with an update on the status of that lawsuit. KeepSolid recently settled the lawsuit, which was filed by several Plaintiffs in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia alleging infringement of United States copyright laws. Although KeepSolid admitted to no liability, wrongdoing, or responsibility as to Plaintiffs’ claims, it nevertheless decided to settle the case in order to resolve the dispute and avoid the need for costly and time-consuming litigation.

To facilitate the settlement of Plaintiffs’ claims, KeepSolid agreed to implement measures designed to prevent its subscribers from using the BitTorrent protocol from its VPN servers in the United States, and agreed to attempt to block certain websites on its servers in the United States including: The Pirate Bay, RARBG, 1337x, Popcorn Time, and YTS. This agreement pertains only to KeepSolid’s VPN servers located in the United States, and does not impact the operations of KeepSolid VPN servers located outside of the United States.

We hope that this update has addressed any questions that you might have regarding the lawsuit. If you have additional questions, please direct them to [email protected].
